Built for the audit framework you operate under
Agricultural rodent control sits under CRRU UK Code of Best Practice for stewardship-rated rodenticides — particularly important for farm-perimeter baiting where non-target wildlife exposure is the regulatory concern. We follow CRRU guidance on every site. RSPH Level 2 certified; HACCP Level 4 (relevant for on-farm food production and livestock buildings).
Where we work in this sector
North Bucks (the Buckingham, Winslow and Stowe arable belt), the Vale of Aylesbury (mixed farming), the Chilterns (livestock and smallholdings around Wendover, Chesham, Princes Risborough), and the South Bucks rural fringe (Penn, Forty Green, the Beaconsfield Old Town hinterland) all have working farms and rural properties on our routine call list. Seasonal rodent migration into properties peaks October–February.

Agriculture & Rural pest control — FAQs
What is ratting with working dogs?
Trained Patterdale terriers — bred and worked specifically for rat and mouse control — flush rodents from concealed harbourage (under silos, behind grain stores, in feed bunkers, around outbuildings) and dispatch them on contact. Faster and more thorough than baiting alone for severe infestations, and zero secondary-poisoning risk to non-target wildlife. See our /services/ratting page for the full method.
Are working dogs legal for pest control?
Yes. Working dogs for rat and mouse control are explicitly permitted under UK pest control law. Our dogs and handlers operate within DEFRA guidance and the Wildlife and Countryside Act. No game licence required for rats or mice.
How does pricing work for farms?
We typically quote a fixed-price quarterly visit programme covering the whole farm, with ratting work scheduled as a separate one-off when an infestation is identified. Contract pricing depends on farm size and existing pest pressure — call for a free survey.
